Transport Workers Union Members at Sadleirs Transport Hold Stop Work Meeting After Seven Negotiation Meetings Deliver No Improvement on New Agreement

Transport Workers’ Union members at Sadleirs Transport will stop work on Wednesday, 23 September, from 10am to 12pm after the company failed to improve its offer despite seven rounds of negotiations.

Workers will hold a member-led stop work meeting outside Sadleirs Transport at 466 Belmont Avenue, where the TWU negotiating committee will meet with members and TWU officials to discuss the company’s proposal and the gaps workers say remain.

Workers are fighting for a wage increase that meets cost of living standards and closes the gap with other unionised companies. Workers are also fighting for increased superannuation to have dignity in retirement.

This action forms part of the TWU’s 2026 national campaign, with more than 200 enterprise agreements across the transport industry set to expire, with an ultimate focus on lifting wages, safety and conditions across the transport industry to prevent companies from competing by cutting workers’ conditions and undermining industry standards.
