Better safety for Bunbury bus drivers

« Back to News Articles

Bunbury drivers have had cages installed in their buses after the union was advised of three assaults on drivers.

We sent a letter to the Minister for Transport Dean Nalder demanding security upgrades and put the pressure on the government to install the cages by involving the local Labor Member.

I thank Adele Farina for all her great help with this issue.

We didn’t quite get everything we wanted down there, but we will continue the fight until our members and their passengers are as safe as possible.

In between all that I have been standing up for members at many disciplinary hearings, winning some battles and saving some jobs.

Wishing all our bus drivers a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Don’t forget you are the union, stay strong and united and we will win.
