And Another Disgrace

This is what truckies use to load their return-trip trailers in Port Hedland.
The second rundown eyesore in Hedland is the area off the main drag into the Port.
A lot of truckies will be familiar with the old concrete ramp (pictured) that drivers use to stack their trailers before their return trip.
Like the BP refuelling site this area is littered with crater-sized pot holes and the ramp itself is in appalling condition.
I’ve even seen local kids riding bikes through the area whilst trucks have been hooking-up and un-hooking.
Imagine the outcry if a child was seriously injured – or God forbid – killed at the dangerous site.
Surely, given the enormous wealth that is generated in the area – and given that without truckies there would be NO PORT and NO TOWN – you’d expect better. MUCH BETTER.
Our campaign for better truck facilities in Hedland is also just beginning.
