5% Rise With Back-pay for QUBE Drivers

« Back to News Articles

EBA negotiations at QUBE's transport division at the Fremantle wharf have dragged on since last September but the wait has proved worthwhile.

QUBE was previously P&O Transport and we had a bit of catching up to do on the wages stakes.

However, their employees would still be bringing up the rear if we accepted QUBE’s initial 3% per year offer.

The blokes wouldn't touch it with Troy Buswell’s and said, "Tell 'em they're dreaming".

Fortunately the company eventually got real and offered 5% with back pay to January 1.

That was more like it and we've asked for another 5% to be paid on 1st January 2015. We'll be happy with just a two-year deal.

Oh, and QUBE will pay a $25 overtime meal allowance and $22 per day dangerous goods allowance!

Also an allowance for those who do customs jobs! When they start mid-morning they will get $20 per day.

Rock solid delegates Dougie Jenkins and Micheal “Dickie” Smith were with me at the negotiating table
